  • May I come to walk on the grounds?

Good Shepherd and Sediba retreat Centres are not open to the public without the approval of the management team, which means that any person intending to visit the Retreat Centre is required to email or phone the office for permission to do so. Pets are not allowed on the property for the protection of guests and residents and to help cultivate the spirit of prayer.


  • May I Come to View the Retreat Centre?

Yes, simply contact the office to book an appointment for viewing.


  • How far in advance can I book a group/individual/conference or retreat?

It is best to book as soon as possible with a 25% deposit to secure your booking. On occasion there are cancellations, so you can contact the office to find out. Bookings can be made a year in advance.


  • Can I plan a one-day retreat/workshop with a group or as an individual?

Yes, we also recommend bookings during weekdays and during the winter season as our calendar may have more availability during these times.


  • Can I plan a one-day retreat/workshop with a group or as an individual?

  • Can I book a retreat just for myself to come rest and pray?

Yes, an individual can book just for some private time to pray and rest.


  • Can I book a retreat for my family?

Yes you can arrange a retreat for a family or extended family group upon request.


  • What are the rates of Good Shepherd and Sediba Retreat Centres?

There is a flat rate, weekdays and weekends. Send an email or contact our office. The office will then create a provisional booking form and email that to you. A 25% non-refundable deposit will secure the booking.


  • Can I book the Centres for Weddings or Parties?

Weddings and parties are not allowed in the retreat centres since the ethos here requires silence and prayer. Please contact the office to find out which events we cater for.


  • Are Good Shepherd and Sediba Retreat Centres Catholic? Is it Inclusive?

Both the centres are Roman Catholic facilities under the care of a Religious Community of priests and brothers called “the Oblates of Mary Immaculate” (OMI). Good Shepherd Retreat Centre, although Catholic, allows Christian groups and ministries to conduct conferences and retreats at the Centre. Sediba Mountain Retreat Centre was developed for interfaith dialogue. We allow non-Christian groups to conduct retreats and workshops at Sediba Mountain Retreat Centre. Our intention is for the engagement of other faiths with Christianity. For more information click on the “About Us” toolbar.

  • Can I get to Good Shepherd and Sediba Retreat Centres by public transportation?

Generally, public transport will get you into Hartbeespoort CBD. From there you could Uber to here. Lanseria Airport is the nearest airport (a 30-​minute drive) Good Shepherd and Sediba retreat centres.


  • Are Good Shepherd and Sediba Retreat Centre open all year round?

Our Centres close just before Christmas and re-open after New Year. Good Shepherd and Sediba Retreat Centres are closed from Palm Sunday ​until Easter Monday. Please contact the office for more information.


  • Are there TV’s and or Wi-Fi

While we discourage the use of technological devices whilst on retreat, as these gadgets can become a distraction from the full experience of a ​retreat here, we do have WIFI available at cost only for conferences. There are no TVs.


  • Are there mosquitoes and bugs and wildlife?

Yes, both centres are situated in nature and surrounded by nature so from time to time you may see some animals such as deer, warthogs, birds, ​and hedgehogs. Some baboons and monkeys wander around on the hills as well. Please do not feed the animals. Please keep your windows and ​doors closed and for the guests at Sediba please keep the dining room closed to prevent unforeseen circumstances. The winter season has fewer ​insects, but it is wise to bring mosquito and insect repellent.


  • Anyone who books for more than one retreat within 3 months will recieve a 25% discount on the seconds retreat.
